Ep52: What Will Smith Slapping Chris Rock Can Teach You About Leadership - Brenda Wilson

Topic:

Today's guest shares strategies leaders can use to manage their stress so that they do not "blow up" like Will Smith did at the Oscars. Leaders are people too and must learn how to manage the many stressors that life will throw at them.

Today's Guest:

Brenda Wilson is Vice President, Director of Federal Employee and Contractor Programs at FEDS Protection, a division of CRC Group.  Brenda began her insurance career over 25 years ago in her sweet home of Chicago providing brokerage and risk management services for an MGA specializing in high risk operations.  She developed into a niche industry expert in the Excess and Surplus lines industry during her tenure as a commercial wholesale broker with CRC Insurance Services, Inc. Over the last decade with FEDS Protection, Brenda has overseen all strategy, marketing and development aspects of the Federal Employee Professional Liability Insurance program and developed the Federal Contractor, HR218 LEOSA for Active and Retired Feds, Military Police Officer, Federal Task Force Officer, and State and Local Veterinarian programs in addition to starting up a new division to provide Defense Base Act Coverage for federal contractors. Her attention, intensity and passion to protect and educate federal employees about their professional exposures, and to ensure superior coverage, risk management, and customer service propelled FEDS Protection’s reputation of doing right by federal employees.

True to her Midwestern roots, Brenda’s outgoing nature is a natural fit for her Federal agency and association partnerships with the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), Women in Federal Law Enforcement (WIFLE), the Senior Executives Association (SEA), the Professional Managers Association (PMA), the Federal Managers Association (FMA), the FAA Managers Association (FAAMA), the National Council of Social Security Managers Association (NCSSMA), and other leading federal government associations including the ATF Association (ATFA), Association of Technical and Supervisory Professionals (ATSP), Diplomatic Security Special Agents Association (DSSAA), Executive Women in Government (EWG), FBI Intelligence Analysts Association (FBI IAA), Federal Court Clerks Association (FCCA), Federal Criminal Investigators Association (FCIA), Federally Employed Women (FEW), Federal Flight Deck Officers Association (FFDOA), Federal Physicians Association (FPA), Federal Wildland Fire Service Association (FWFSA), Interior Department Recreation Association (IDRA), National Association of Assistant U.S. Attorneys (NAAUSA), National Association of Black Narcotics Agents (NABNA), National Association of Credit Specialists (NACS-FSA & RD), National Association of Federal Veterinarians (NAFV), National Wildlife Refuge Officer Association (NWROA), and the Personal Services Contractors (PSC) Association.

Brenda is a regular contributor of FEDS articles for the Spotlight column in FEDagent, the Manager Matters column in FEDmanager, and exposure specific articles in federal association magazines and newsletters.
